The chill is here, but that doesn’t mean we have to hide away in our houses and hibernate!

That’s just not the Planet Shoes way!

We’ve compiled the top 5 places (and their shoe pairings, because who said that only wine pairings were just a thing?!) that are on our travel calendars this winter.

1.       Blue Mountains, NSW + Potsy boot

Of course the Blue Mountains makes the top of the list, how could it not! If you haven’t experienced the beauty and the power of the rugged New South Wales region – you need to add it to the top of yours! Boasting a breathtaking selection of waterfalls, cliffs, galleries, walking trails and eucalyptus bush this is the dream destination for the nature lover! Our top tips are to check out the three sisters lookout, to take the Katoomba scenic world railway tour across the gorge above the Katoomba falls, the Blue Mountains national park or one of the many food and wine tours such as visiting Bilpin Cider or Josophan’s Fine Chocolates.

Shoe Pairing: POTSY

When trekking about in the cold and on bushland you need a shoe that is warm, waterproof and supportive. Potsy’s padded foot bed and arch support is the perfect comfy shoe for trekking to lookouts but also stylish enough to wear to a gallery on the same day!

2.       Barossa Valley, SA + Trigg boot

South Australia’s Barossa Valley is essentially the mecca for Wine lovers in Australia. If you consider yourself a fan of wine, then its near essential you join the pilgrimage, as Barossa is home to 550 grape growing families supplying to over 170 wine companies. As well as a huge selection of wineries, be sure to also check out the Barossa Valley’s Saturday Farmers Market and the Farmgate Orchard for fresh fruit, bread and baked goods to pick up some nibble pairings for your wine!

Shoe Pairing: TRIGG

Given the Barossa Valley wineries are hardly the same as trekking around the Blue Mountains, a stylish ankle boot such as TRIGG is perfect for visiting wineries and restaurants when you want to be comfortable but still look put together!

3.Mount Buller, VIC + Zodiac

Who says the coast is only a summer destination! Though Dunsborough, W.A. may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of winter, but a trip to the coast in the off season is a lot more affordable and offers just as many enjoyable benefits to Summer, making this a perfect spot for ocean lovers all year around! Notable things to do in Dunsborough include the galleries, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, Clancy’s fish pub for live music lovers, Eagle Bay Brewing Company for delicious wines and beers and the Ngilgi Cave for underground stalactites to wonder at nature’s own art.
